This "heroic post" has welcomed more than 800 technology and solution providers to compete for the list and achieve phased construction results. Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology released the first list of construction results of major application scenarios of the Metaverse in Shanghai, involving 10 scenarios, covering five fields such as intelligent manufacturing, medical health, cultural tourism, commercial operations, and classroom education. This means that in Shanghai, the Metaverse has gone from concept to reality, and the connection between industrial supply and demand has entered practical operation.

In the field of intelligent manufacturing, the "Baosteel Quanzhen Yuanyu Universe Hot Rolling Plant" scenario was launched by the hot rolling plant of Baosteel Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Baosight Software Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Zhigonghui Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. unveiled the scene. Focusing on "quality to point, energy consumption to roll, management to people, and cost to parts", the visualization of the entire process of the hot rolling plant has been completed, realizing the intelligentization of equipment and management;

In the field of medical health, Shanghai Ruijin Hospital proposed the "Metaverse Smart Hospital Application" scenario, and Shanghai Liankong Network Technology Co., Ltd. and others provided solutions. The solution uses Metaverse technology to reconstruct and empower physical space, create smart hospital space, and improve patient experience, doctor perception, and manager control;

In the field of commercial operations, the "MetaCity 1933" scene was launched by Shanghai Laochangfang Creative Industry Management Co., Ltd. and jointly launched by 11 companies including Shanghai Shiji Meta Culture Technology Co., Ltd., using a variety of digital technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence to create a new space for immersive experience of smart tourism and activate the vitality of old buildings;

In the field of cultural tourism, the "Greater Yuyuan Metaverse Super Scene" released by Yuyuan Cultural Commercial Group has attracted four companies including Baidu and Alipay to work together to provide solutions.

Judging from the announcement of the first batch of results, Shanghai Metaverse’s “unveiling the challenge and appointing the leader” for major application scenarios has fulfilled the promise of “heroes come from all walks of life”. The main entities that unveiled the challenge include relevant companies, universities, research institutes, etc. engaged in Metaverse technology innovation and application services. It also reflects the cooperation of different companies in jointly unveiling the challenge, and large companies leading small companies to jointly tackle key problems.

Metaverse is one of Shanghai's four new tracks. According to the "Shanghai Action Plan for Cultivating the Metaverse New Track (2022-2025)" released in July last year, by 2025, Shanghai will launch 50+ demonstration scenarios, 100+ benchmark products and services, and the scale of Shanghai's metaverse-related industries will reach 350 billion yuan, driving the city's software and information service industry to exceed 1.5 trillion yuan and the electronic information manufacturing industry to exceed 550 billion yuan.
