NBA launches dynamic Ethereum NFT to further expand NFT market

The NBA is going all-in on NFTs.

On April 20, the NBA announced that it will launch a dynamic NFT series called The Association on Ethereum on April 21. It will be minted free of charge for the whitelist, with a total of 18,000 pieces.

It is reported that each NFT in this series represents a real NBA player in this year's playoffs, and will evolve according to the player's real performance during the playoffs, which means that a certain number of dunks, blocks, three-pointers, rebounds or assists will change the player's image. The Association NFT connects to the real-time data source of each team and player through the Chainlink Oracle and performs calculations. This will automatically change the appearance of each player's NFT according to the preset achievements written into the Galaxis smart contract. The NFT background and frame will also change according to the performance of the player's team. By then, each player from 16 different NBA teams will have 75 NFTs. Players will be randomly and transparently allocated using Chainlink VRF, so everyone has a fair and equal opportunity to pick any player from any of the 16 playoff teams.

To get The Association NFT, users need to be on the whitelist. The whitelist is available to the earliest members of the NBA Discord (you need to link your wallet to know if you are on the whitelist) . Last week, the NBA launched NBAxNFT, which currently consists of a Twitter account and a Discord channel. The new Twitter account NBAxNFT is called the "NBA Official Web3 Homepage", and the project aims to combine basketball with NFT, games, metaverse, and Web3 concepts.

Each wallet can only mint one NFT. After minting, NFT holders can view the NFT in their wallets, on the official website TheAssociation NFT.com, and on secondary markets such as OpenSea on April 22.

It is worth mentioning that the NBA has also reserved 1,900 pieces of The Association series for the NFT project NBA Top Shop community.
