On October 19, CoinDesk reported, citing sources, that Societe Generale is seeking to acquire a cryptocurrency custody company, or at least acquire a strategic stake in one of them. Sources said Industrial Bank issued a request for proposals (RFP) to find companies that can provide encryption key custody and trading services. One of the sources said Societe Generale is particularly interested in two Swiss companies, Metaco, a crypto infrastructure startup, and Taurus, a Swiss compliant digital asset agency. Metaco previously provided crypto custody technology to the Swiss branches of Spain's second-largest bank BBVA and Russia's Gazprombank. |
