Yunnan Yingjiang County to completely cut off illegal water and electricity supply to Bitcoin miners

On August 24, regulators in Yingjiang County, Yunnan, China, issued a strict warning to hydropower plants, prohibiting them from supplying electricity to companies involved in Bitcoin mining and strengthening supervision of their mining operations. In addition, the notice requires hydropower stations to report to the National Development and Reform Commission after decommissioning mining operators from the power grid to ensure that all illegal supplies of hydropower to Bitcoin miners are completely stopped.
