VanEck applies for "Bitcoin Strategy ETF", SEC Chairman says it is likely to be approved

Eric Balchunas, senior ETF analyst at Bloomberg, just tweeted that global asset management company VanEck has filed an application to launch a Bitcoin strategy exchange-traded fund (ETF). The fund has been filed under the Investment Company Act of 1940, similar to the ETF that the company filed with the SEC last week as reported by U.Today. The ETF will contain Bitcoin futures and other Bitcoin funds, the same as Invesco's Bitcoin Strategy ETF. This is the fourth Bitcoin ETF application filed under the 1940 Act (as required by the Security and Exchange Commission agency).

According to Balchunas in the tweet, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler said that this type of ETF is likely to be approved in the end.

BitPush previously reported that VanEck Asset Management has submitted an application to launch an Ethereum ETF, the "VanEck Ethereum Trust". If approved, it will be traded on the Cboe BZX exchange.

Separately, the company also launched the first cryptocurrency ETF in Europe earlier this year. The product, called VanEck Vectors Digital Assets Equity UCITS ETF (DAPP), was listed on the London Stock Exchange and Deutsche Börse.

This cryptocurrency ETF tracks the MVIS Global Digital Asset Stock Index, which tracks the performance of the largest and most liquid companies operating in the digital asset space.
