The U.S. Senate voted to pass an amendment to the infrastructure bill, which may impose taxes on miners, developers, etc.

On August 9, the U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly 68 to 29 to pass the Warner-Sinema-Portman infrastructure bill amendments.

The amendment has been widely criticized by the crypto community for imposing tax reporting requirements on non-custodial actors such as miners and developers.

After the vote, there will be 30 hours of debate according to the procedure, which means that the amendment may still be rejected. It is reported that another amendment, the Wyden-Lummis-Toomey Amendment, is still making active efforts to change the strict requirements of Warner-Sinema-Portman on the encryption industry.
