According to BlockBeats, on May 18, the official Twitter account of Bridge Oracle, based on TRON, said, “According to the order of the Special Court for Economic Crimes, the owner of the account was arrested on charges of disrupting the economic system. The official judicial authorities will provide more information.” Bridge Oracle CEO Sina Estavi has reportedly been arrested by Iran’s cyber police. As of this writing, the price of Bridge Oracle’s native token, BRG, has fallen sharply, down more than 65%, according to TradingView. Bridge Oracle is a blockchain company based in Malaysia, but another of Estavi’s companies, cryptocurrency exchange Cryptoland, is operated from Iran. Cryptoland’s Twitter account also retweeted the post. Estavi is known for his fierce bidding war with Tron CEO Justin Sun for Jack Dorsey’s first NFT tweet. Jack Dorsey’s first tweet was posted in March 2006 and read: “Setting up my Twitter account.” In the end, Estavi successfully purchased the NFT for more than $2.9 million (1,630 ETH). Earlier this year, Estavi was sued by former Bitcoin.com CEO Mate Tokay for not paying him for his services. In his statement, Tokay also claimed that there were issues with BRG’s total supply data. |
