At 22:44 on the evening of October 15, 2020, Beijing time, the Filecoin network reached a height of 148888 and the mainnet was officially launched.

One of the most important characteristics of the 21st century is that all industries are gradually moving towards digitalization, and people's lives have also undergone earth-shaking changes due to the development of the Internet industry. With the exponential growth of Internet data, distributed storage represented by Filecoin will become an important cornerstone of human civilization and help the arrival and development of the Web 3.0 era.

As described by Protocol Labs, launching a blockchain project is like launching a rocket, a complex and lengthy process that requires the joint efforts of the entire community.

It has been 610 days since the Filecoin project open sourced its code on February 14, 2019. A new peer-to-peer way of storing and retrieving data has finally been born.
