The InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) ( https://ipfs.io/ ) is a new hypermedia distribution protocol, addressable by content and identity. IPFS enables the creation of fully distributed applications. Its goal is to make the web faster, more secure, and more open. Due to the large scope, this weekly newsletter aims to track developments across the ecosystem.

Great news for integrating decentralized protocols in browsers! Now supported in Chromium: "cabal", "dat", "did", "dweb", "ethereum", "hyper", "ipfs", "ipns", and "ssb". Another step forward for browser support and webcompat!

Check out all 134 projects built during HackFS in a showcase hosted by ETHGlobal. From building a way to make content persist on IPFS without compromising the data and the entire network, to lowering the barriers to leveraging the open data network, and more, see how people are building with IPFS.

Filecoin Launchpad Accelerator is a fully remote program dedicated to building more open, interoperable, and programmable tools, infrastructure, and applications for the distributed and decentralized web. The program ran from September to December 2020, with 15 to 20 teams provided with funding, mentorship, benefits, and more, culminating in a "demo day" and post-program fundraising support.

The Filecoin team is starting to host a series of masterclasses to demonstrate how to build on the Filecoin network. The first session focused on how to integrate the Slate API with IPFS and Filecoin. Slate is a storage application that allows you to store images, audio, video, and data through a graphical interface or API.
