Ethereum mining machine INNOSILICON A10 Pro trial experience

The A10 Pro miner is a miner produced by INNOSILICON that uses the Ethash algorithm for ETH mining. The official hashrate is 500MH/s (±5%) and the wall power consumption is 860W (+/- 10%).
Relevant data shows that the Ethereum DAG file grows by 520MB per year. The current Ethereum DAG file is 3.728GB and the Ethereum Classic DAG file is 3.82GB. According to this calculation, the DAG file will reach 4GB by the end of December 2020. The existing 4GB graphics cards will no longer be able to mine. The A10 Pro mining machine is an updated version of the INNOSILICON A10. Not only has the computing power been improved, but the system video memory has also been upgraded to 5G.

The A10 Pro mining machine has a square appearance, with physical dimensions of 362mm (length) x 136mm (width) x 285mm (height), and a bare metal weight of 8.1 KG.

The A10 Pro mining machine is a single-tube design that uses two parallel fans to provide heat dissipation for the hashboard. The hashboard and control board are connected using flat cables. The large number of wires shows that there are three hashboards built in.

The A10 Pro miner can be placed upright or lying flat, and the bottom is equipped with an anti-skid pad to make it more stable when placed upright.

The A10 Pro mining machine is randomly distributed with a power supply model G5118-1400W. Official information shows that this power supply provides a DC voltage of 12.20-12.25V, a rated current of 0-120A, a rated power of 1450 watts, and has output short circuit, overcurrent, and overheating protection. The power supply weighs 2kg.

The G5118-1400W power supply comes with 10 6-pin power connectors for connecting to the mining machine computing board and control board. At the same time, this power supply can be adapted to Innosilicon A9 / D9 / A8 / A5 / A4 + series mining machines.

When placed upright after connecting to the power supply, the power supply can only be placed at an angle due to the length of the cable.

It is more natural to place it flat, but it should be noted that the power outlet is located at the AC power cord interface. If the outlet position is not adjusted during mining, heat reflux may occur (the power supply will draw the hot air on the outlet side of the mining machine back to the air inlet of the mining machine).

The mining of A10 Pro mining machine is the same as that of other series of mining machines. After connecting the Internet cable and turning on the power, you must first find the IP address of the mining machine. A more convenient way is to enter the local router and search for the device named "Innominer".

Enter the IP address into the browser to enter the A10 Pro mining machine login interface. The default login account and password are both: admin.

Then go to the "Settings/Pools" page to configure the mining pool address, miner number and password, and then click "Update Pools" on the bottom to save and update the mining pool. One thing to note is that when configuring the mining pool, the mining pool address prefix stratum+tcp:// must be added completely, otherwise the update cannot be saved.

On the "Settings/Network" page, you can change the IP address of the A10 Pro mining machine to a static IP address for easy maintenance.

On the "Overview" page, you can view the system information of the A10 Pro mining machine. Type A10L means the A10 Pro 5G memory version. You can also view the mining machine firmware version information, etc.

After configuring the mining pool, the A10 Pro mining machine will automatically adjust the frequency to start mining. According to actual measurements, the A10 Pro mining machine will not display computing power data for the first 10 minutes after the mining pool is modified. After 10 minutes, the computing power will slowly increase. The power consumption of the mining machine will slowly increase with the increase of computing power. The overall noise level of the mining machine is less than 80 decibels, fluctuating between 74-79 decibels.

After about 53 minutes, the computing power of the A10 Pro mining machine reached the nominal value of 500M.

When the room temperature was 25.8 degrees, the temperature at the mining machine outlet was measured to be 34.9 degrees.

After the computing power was stabilized, Caiyun Mine measured that the power consumption of the A10 Pro mining machine was 955.8W.
