After purchasing 17,500 S19 mining machines, Core Scientific and hedge fund Horizon Kinetics reached a deeper cooperation

According to BlockBeats, Core Scientific, a US blockchain solutions provider, recently announced that it will reach a deeper cooperation with Horizon Kinetics, a hedge fund with assets under management of US$5.3 billion, and will host more S19 and S19 Pro mining machines.

Hugh Ross, COO of Horizon Kinetics, said the hedge fund’s decision to work with Core Scientific came after several years of investigating North American ASIC hosting providers.

Horizon Kinetics has tripled the number of mining machines it hosts at Core Scientific since the two companies first partnered more than a year ago.

Over the next four months, Horizon Kinetics’ recently purchased mining machines will be deployed in 665,000 square feet of data centers operated by Core Scientific. These data centers can provide about 381 megawatts of power to run their machines, and Core Scientific’s chief customer officer Russell Cann said they have “the infrastructure to quickly expand to 450 megawatts of power at their current location.”

In addition to reaching a deeper cooperation with Horizon Kinetics, Core Scientific also hired Taras Kulyk, former president of blockchain technology company Alt 5 Sigma, as its new senior vice president of blockchain business development. Kulyk will be responsible for leading Core Scientific to attract more and more institutional players.
