V God said: ETH expansion will not be a problem soon

Ethereum is expecting an increase in transactions per second (TPS) as the network moves to the long-awaited Ethereum 2.0 (ETH 2.0), according to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.

In a tweet on June 30, Vitalik said: "Ethereum 2.0 data expansion will precede general computing expansion."

He noted: “This means that rollups will become the dominant scaling paradigm for at least a few years: first, ETH 1 will be the data layer with 2-3K TPS, then Ethereum 2.0 (Phase 1) will reach 100k TPS, and then will adjust accordingly.

V God said that in essence, the network will not immediately transition to Ethereum 2.0. When referring to rollups, V God included a second layer on top of Ethereum as part of the equation, using Ethereum's current base blockchain and then switching to Ethereum 2.0 as the blockchain base. The transition to Ethereum 2.0 will generate 2,000 to 3,000 TPS and eventually reach 100,000 TPS.

Massive debate

For years, the crypto community has been debating the topic of scaling. Bitcoin, the leading cryptocurrency asset, has a TPS of only about 7, while credit cards such as Visa process an average of about 24,000 TPS, which has led to comments on the viability of Bitcoin as a real-world payment option.

Ethereum has also encountered difficulties. When the blockchain game CryptoKitties became popular on the Internet a few years ago, the Ethereum network was already congested.

Ethereum 2.0, a scalability solution that will transition the network to a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus, has been a major topic of discussion in recent months, with Ethereum’s blog posting an update last week as efforts move forward.
