CCTV exposes blockchain fraud again: 6 domestic virtual currency trading platforms have been closed this year

On December 10, CCTV’s latest report stated that since 2019, a total of 6 newly discovered domestic virtual currency trading platforms have been closed.
According to the report, relevant departments have currently processed 203 overseas virtual currency exchanges through technology in seven batches, and closed nearly 10,000 payment accounts through two large non-bank payment institutions. On the WeChat platform, nearly 300 small programs and public accounts involved in promotional marketing have been closed.

Previously, CCTV1's "Focus Interview" broadcast a "blockchain"-related program on November 18. The program pointed out that in the current blockchain boom, the most important thing to guard against and strengthen supervision is the so-called virtual digital currency, and relevant legislation should be accelerated.
"For blockchain, what we should do is to vigorously promote the application and implementation of blockchain technology in trade finance, public services and other fields; what we should not do is to use the name of blockchain to raise money and commit fraud. In this regard, relevant departments should set rules and strengthen supervision, and the general public should keep their eyes open to prevent being deceived."
