Ethereum Java client Ethereum (J) announced that it would abandon development for unknown reasons

According to BlockBeats, the code base of Ethereum (J), the Ethereum Java client, was updated on November 15, marking that the Ethereum client version has been discontinued for unknown reasons. The last version update of the project code base was on April 9, 2019, when the client was upgraded to versions 1.12 and 1.13. Subsequently, on November 15, it was announced that support would be discontinued and the project was abandoned. BlockBeats did not find the reason for the discontinuation of support on the developer Gitter.

Ethereum(J) is a pure Java implementation of the Ethereum protocol. It is provided as a library that can be embedded in any Java/Scala project and provides full support for the Ethereum protocol and its ancillary services. Ethereum(J) supports CPU mining. It is currently implemented in pure Java and can be used for private and test networks. Users could even mine on the live Ethereum network before, but this was not economically viable.

Although the Java version of the client has stopped being updated and supported, you can still choose Ethereum clients in multiple languages ​​such as Go, Python, Javascript, Rust, etc. For users who are familiar with the Java language, you can still use Besu (Ethereum Java client) developed by Hyperledger.
