Nervos CKB plans to launch the mainnet Lina on November 16

Since the launch of Rylai (Nervos CKB testnet) , CKB has been tested in a real network environment for more than 200 days, including 5 mining competitions , during which the computing power has reached 20 TH/s. At the same time, CKB's code has been strictly reviewed by two independent security audit teams, and all problems found during the review have been resolved. The Nervos Bug Bounty program has been launched to provide more protection for CKB's security. The code base of Nervos CKB has been frozen on October 19, and all the planned design goals have been achieved.

After careful discussion, we believe that CKB has met the functionality and stability required for the mainnet.

We are ready to release CKB’s first mainnet Lina!

In the past two years, Nervos' vision and philosophy have been increasingly recognized and supported, and the Nervos community around the world is growing every day. As a decentralized common knowledge base, we hope that the launch of the Nervos CKB mainnet will also be a decentralized process where the community reaches consensus.

We hope that everyone can generate a unique genesis block in a verifiable way, use it as a basis to start a node, and connect with other nodes on the earth to form a decentralized common knowledge base network. Therefore, the Nervos CKB mainnet launch will adopt the following plan:

  1. The Nervos Foundation will provide an open source genesis block generator on November 9, 2019. The genesis block generator is written according to the token distribution plan announced by the Nervos Foundation and generates a genesis block based on the pre-agreed token distribution rules and inputs.

  2. The Genesis Block Generator requires all the block data of the last testnet as input. In addition to the initial token allocation, the Genesis Block will also embed the hash of the specified height block of the testnet as a proof of time and workload to ensure the uniqueness and validity of the Genesis Block. If there are multiple blocks at the same height, the Foundation will publish the information of the block that first receives 12 confirmations.

  3. The third phase of the fifth mining competition will last for 90 epochs. The hash of the last block of the 90th epoch is used to generate the hash of the genesis block . November 16, 2019 .

Anyone who runs a CKB testnet node can synchronize with others in the world to obtain the verifiable data needed to generate the genesis block. The genesis block generation and launch of the CKB mainnet will be a completely decentralized, community-driven process .

We believe that the consensus of the entire community will be united for the first time through the launch of Nervos CKB mainnet and will continue to be united for many years to come. We believe that you are as excited as we are and look forward to this exciting moment. Let us witness history together!
