Easy Miner CKB Mining Tutorial

CKB is scheduled to conduct the fourth phase of testing from 14:00 on September 7 to 14:00 on September 21, Beijing time. Mining before this time or after the end will not generate any income .

This round of testing generated a total of 9 million mainnet tokens. Based on the public offering market and the revenue from the Easy Miner public account, taking 6-card P106 as an example, if the average daily mining volume exceeds 3,500 units, the revenue may not be as good as mining ETH. If the number is doubled after the mainnet, it can accommodate about 7,000 units; if it is 10 times, it can accommodate about 35,000 units. The revenue of CKB and ETH dual mining is not within the scope of this discussion. This calculation is for reference only.

It is reported that the tokens obtained from this round of testing can only be redeemed after the mainnet is launched , and the mainnet launch date is not clear yet.

CKB supports A cards and N cards, including 1063. N cards with 4G or more video memory support CKB+ETH dual mining. No news has been received about supporting A card dual mining. As for whether it is better to mine CKB alone or dual mining, there is no data for your reference at the moment. If you are concerned about this issue, please pay attention to relevant information or test and calculate it yourself.

The computing power, expected revenue and overclocking recommendations of each card can be obtained by sending “CKB” to the official account after it goes online.

Using EasyMiner to mine CKB

After the kernel is launched, any version of EasyMiner can be used normally.

Select CKB as the currency, then fill in the wallet address, and then choose your favorite mining pool and kernel.

Fill in the wallet address

Bee uses email as wallet address (same as GRIN)

FishPool directly uses the mainnet address as the wallet address

Spark and UU use sub-accounts as wallet addresses. Please register at the corresponding mining pool and add the sub-account first.

Get the local mainnet wallet address

Currently, only the fish pool needs to use the local wallet address .

1. Access

2. Unzip the downloaded file

3. Run ckb-cli account new

4. Enter your password and keep it safe.

5. Mainnet is followed by the wallet address of the main network

Be sure to export the private key : ckb-cli account export --lock-arg fd3d15ff8956c34cd2c3b2de66aba5c118e5f9e2 --extended-privkey-path myckb.key, where the long string after --lock-arg is replaced with your lock_arg . After entering the password, the private key will be saved in the myckb.key file and should be kept properly.

Other related commands, such as ckb-cli account list, are not discussed here. Local wallet commands are complex to operate, so please make sure you need to use a local wallet address.

Dual mining with ETH

Due to some features of CKB, dual mining with ETH (including all ethash algorithms) is supported. If you want dual mining, you can enable it through the one-key switching function of group control (as shown below).

After selecting CKB as the currency and nbminer 2 5.0 as the kernel, the dual mining option and related parameters will be automatically displayed (if there are other kernels, select the same).

No group control, no mining

I believe that you have more than a few mining machines. If you want to switch all machines into mining as soon as a new coin is launched and leave in time when there is a higher-yield coin, then you must set up a group control for yourself. Send the group control to the official account to get relevant tutorials.

Let’s talk about the importance of group control

According to the experience of AE, BEAM and GRIN, the launch of new coins inevitably requires kernel upgrades and improvements. Without group control, upgrading the kernel machine by machine is a big task.

After the test is over and before the mainnet goes online , you also need to switch to other currencies with one click. Without group control, this is a huge workload.
