Crypto mining is more environmentally friendly than almost any other large industry, report says

According to Market Watch, a report released by cryptocurrency investment company CoinShares believes that the view that crypto mining causes global energy consumption is greatly exaggerated. In fact, 77.6% of Bitcoin mining uses renewable energy, making it "more environmentally friendly than almost any other large industry in the world."

“In environmental terms, crypto mining, while costly, has minimal impacts and is unlikely to cause significant harm in the foreseeable future,” the report said.
