A Trojan disguised as a macOS cryptocurrency code base, CoinTicker, is installing backdoors on users' MAC computers. Once installed, the CoinTicker app allows users to select various cryptocurrencies and monitor prices. It will then add an information widget to the macOS menu bar that updates in real time with cryptocurrency price changes. But in the background, the app will automatically install two backdoors on the infected MAC, allowing attackers to remotely control the computer. (bleepingcomputer) |
