Bitmain: AsicBoost has no patent issues and can be used by all mining farms

Regarding the patent rights of AsicBoost, Bitmain officially stated that it will respect the intellectual property rights of third parties, but based on the legal provisions of different jurisdictions, AsicBoost may never have patent rights. Therefore, all mining pools should have the right to choose whether to use AsicBoost technology without having to own patent rights. It is reported that AsicBoost technology can reduce power consumption by 20%. Bitmain's S9 mining machine has supported the AsicBoost function since 2017, but it has not been released because AsicBoost is protected by patents, and Bitmain was excluded from the usable list because it was "targeted". Some analysts believe that Bitmain launched AsicBoost at this time to avoid miners shutting down.
