According to thelocal, the factory operated by Norwegian Bitcoin mining company Kryptovault has caused community complaints due to loud noise, and municipal authorities have found that the facility lacks the relevant licenses required to operate. The company also received a bomb threat last week. Arne Hellum, who handles nearby government construction cases, revealed that the local government may now order Kryptovault to temporarily close the factory until the required licenses are obtained. Kryptovault CEO Stig Myrseth said that when it took over the factory, it was told that the permits were in order. The company has now applied for other missing necessary permits and has invested in noise reduction equipment, and will try to reduce the noise from 60 decibels to below 45 decibels. |
