The US city of Salamanca bans cryptocurrency mining within its jurisdiction

According to Blokt, members of the Salamanca City Council in northern New York recently voted to pass a ban on all cryptocurrency mining operations within the city's jurisdiction. City Councilman Timothy Flanigan said the main purpose of the ban is to prevent miners from consuming electricity resources of ordinary residents. The ban is effective throughout the city and all personnel in the jurisdiction must comply.
