Not long ago, a Bitcoin mining machine thief in Iceland escaped from prison and took the same flight as the Prime Minister of Iceland, which became a funny story. Of course, the matter did not end there. Recently, the escaped prisoner claimed that his behavior was legal. It is reported that on February 2, an Icelandic man, Sindri Thor Stefansson, was arrested on suspicion of stealing about 600 computers used for Bitcoin mining. On April 17, Stefansson escaped from a very lax prison and unexpectedly took the same flight as the Prime Minister of Iceland to Sweden. Last week, Thor Stefansson claimed in a letter to Icelandic media that the Icelandic police detained him for several months but did not find any evidence to prove his crime, which eventually led to his "escape from prison." Stefansson also said that his detention order expired on April 16, and the police applied for an extension of detention for 10 days, but the judge did not agree and announced that the sentence would be rescheduled to a later date. Therefore, Stefansson believes that his "escape from prison" is a legal journey. In this regard, some netizens said that after stealing something, they dared to defend themselves with a high-sounding excuse. Are all thieves nowadays so bold? |
