What should I do if Bminer cannot run on Windows? ¶

Currently, Bminer cannot run without opening and loading NVML. Bminer uses the NVIDIA Management Library (NVML) to monitor the GPU. The NVML library is usually installed with the NVIDIA driver and can usually be found under C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI . If you see similar errors, please make sure to double-check that NVML is installed correctly.

Why does Windows Defender occasionally report Bminer as a virus/malware? ¶

Bminer uses DRM technology to avoid tampering. Anti-virus software sometimes classifies it as a virus because the technology is used to confuse malware.

Bminer is not malware. You do need to allow it in Windows Defender to run. We strongly recommend that you check the hash signature when downloading to ensure that the software has not been tampered with.

After the Bminer program crashes, it can only be run again after restarting the machine.¶

In case of problems with mining hardware (e.g. loose cables, low battery), Bminer tends to crash. It is difficult for the operating system and drivers to recover from these errors. Therefore you must restart the system instead of restarting Bminer.

Why does it take BMiner a while to accelerate to the ideal speed? ¶

Bminer uses an exponentially weighted moving average algorithm to report the mining rate. This algorithm uses the speed of the past few minutes as a reference.

For the first few minutes, the actual mining rate is always high, although the displayed rate is slightly lower. The reported rate will converge to the real rate after a few minutes.
