BTC-e closed its service window for more than 16 hours

Golden Finance News - BTC-e exchange , one of the largest exchanges for buying and selling cryptocurrencies, has not provided services to users for more than 11 hours, according to its official Twitter account.

At 14:20 on July 26, MSK Stock Exchange said: “Due to technical problems in BTC-e’s data center, it may be temporarily unavailable.”

At 16:29 on July 26 , BTC-e released a message on Twitter: "Our engineers are still busy in the data center, and we will continue to keep in touch with users."

At 16:44, a communication representative of the BTE-e social network declared: "The technical work is nearing completion, thank you for your understanding."

The last message was posted on Twitter at 21:41: "We will continue with our current planned repairs and we will keep you informed. Sorry for the inconvenience."

As of press time, btc-e.com trading services are still unavailable.

Users expressed their opinions on Twitter, including the hashtag #btce, suggesting that the BTC-e market may have been forced to shut down or that attackers may have stolen Bitcoin wallets belonging to them.

The BTC-E exchange was founded in 2011 and has been popular among a network of mainly Russian-speaking users.
