So far, the total market value of Bitcoin has reached 40 billion US dollars. This summer, Bitcoin will usher in the largest-scale change since its inception. The smooth implementation of the New York Consensus SegWit2x plan will completely resolve the three-year-long Bitcoin expansion dispute. "One coin, one villa" is no longer just a catchphrase, but will become a reality in the near future. In the face of a situation where the situation is hopeless, the core development team, unwilling to accept the loss of power, is still trying to hinder the implementation of the New York Consensus. A very small number of developers tried to split Bitcoin by activating segregated verification through BIP148 (User Activated Soft Fork, UASF for short). They promoted August 1 as "Bitcoin Independence Day", on which day BIP148 will be activated, and nodes running BIP148 will begin to reject blocks from miners who do not support SegWit , pushing these blocks to a different Bitcoin network, thereby achieving the purpose of splitting the Bitcoin blockchain and splitting Bitcoin. The New York Consensus itself is a product of a community political compromise, catering to the interests of the majority of people in the community, but this support is not unbreakable and can be easily influenced by the outside world. Many people who support the New York Consensus actually support Segregated Verification and are die-hard fans of the core development team. The reason they abandoned the core development team is that the core development team is too arrogant, ignoring the overall situation, unwilling to listen to the opinions of the community, and unwilling to make even the slightest change, which goes against the trend of social development and hinders the development of Bitcoin. BIP148 does not require the support of the majority of computing power to activate Isolate Verification, depriving miners of their network voting rights and lacking necessary replay protection measures will cause instability in the Bitcoin system. The Core development team wants to use BIP148 to force users to activate Isolate Verification to attract support from mining pools that support Isolate Verification. People tend to follow the crowd, and once there is support from mining pools, more supporters will emerge, thus undermining the New York Consensus. Ultimately, the New York Consensus was blocked, the community split again, and the Core development team took advantage of this opportunity to successfully take over. In May, the organizers of the New York Scaling Conference invited the core development team three times, but the core development team refused to send representatives to participate. After the New York Consensus was signed, they publicly accused the New York Consensus of being a decision made by some interest groups at a closed-door meeting, which could not represent the opinions of the entire community, and refused to recognize the New York Consensus. They attacked the SegWit2x team responsible for the New York Consensus code as unreliable and incapable of writing code. They attacked former Bitcoin core developer Jeff Garzik as a hypocritical person who, although claiming to be a "Bitcoin core developer," made almost no contribution to Bitcoin development. These have all been proven to be lies, and the main code of the New York Consensus SegWit2x solution was also contributed by Jeff Garzik . Given the excellent performance of the core development team in the early stages of Bitcoin, the community is more willing to believe that the core development team is a group of people with high IQ and low EQ, rather than believe that the core development team has become a puppet of Blockstream. We hope that the core development team will return to the community, stop sabotaging the New York Consensus, and continue to contribute their strength to the development of Bitcoin. At present, 86% of the computing power of the entire network supports the New York Consensus SegWit2x solution. Once the mining pool locks on the SegWit2x solution, other expansion solutions will become a thing of the past. Once the New York Consensus SegWit2x solution ultimately fails, Bitcoin will eventually split. I implore everyone in the community to support the New York Consensus, cherish this hard-won achievement, and work hard for "one coin, one villa"! |
