According to data from CoinMarketCap on Tuesday, ETH's 24-hour trading volume has exceeded Bitcoin. At press time of 17:00 BST, ETH’s daily trading volume has reached $1.293 billion, surpassing Bitcoin’s $1.271 billion. This is unprecedented in ETH’s history, and ETH’s price growth is significantly more active than BTC. Since Monday, BTC has only risen 1.65%, while the top altcoin has risen 11.3%. Since following Bitcoin’s plunge to just $120 last Wednesday, ETH has rebounded back above $200. As the price of Bitcoin itself rose, most altcoins also rose over the weekend, recovering some of their losses as investors believed that the long-awaited bubble had accelerated its burst. Bitcoin once approached $3,000, while ETH hit a new high of $300. However, investment now seems to be bullish again, and Bitcoin's market share has now fallen below 50%. As of press time, according to CoinMarketCap data, the total market value of Bitcoin is approximately $36 billion, while the total market value of ETH is approximately $21 billion. Regarding ETH’s daily transaction volume exceeding BTC, Bruce Fenton, former executive director of the Bitcoin Foundation, wrote on Twitter:
However, Fenton added that he believes the Bitcoin blockchain is still “superior” to Ethereum.
