Russian experts: Blockchain is the most effective defense against future nuclear wars

A Russian industry expert said that blockchain is the most effective defense against future nuclear wars.

An article published by Russian local media Ekspert pointed out that Sergey Chernyshev from the institutional engineering laboratory believes that blockchain smart contracts can fight potential threats in the future and save humanity.

In his article, Chernysev referenced Cold War-era plans by the United States and the Soviet Union, when the two superpowers sought to build lasers in space stations to shoot down nuclear rockets.

A Reddit user briefly summarized the article and wrote:

The Russians soon realized (and mathematically verified) that if both Russia and the United States built such a system - then such a system would be enough to destroy the world.

Fortunately, however, similar plans are unlikely to emerge again in the future, and an agreement has already been signed between member states.

Chernysev mentioned the use of blockchain in military defense:

In order to control the development and performance of this space protection system at all stages, the countries signing this agreement should adopt distributed public ledger technology, namely blockchain.

He added that so-called “IT fans” publish a lot of “empty talk” about blockchain, but they do so without caring who would be interested in their ideas or who would need their projects.

This is not the first time blockchain has been mentioned in the field of nuclear defense. Last October, the US Pentagon announced that they planned to adopt blockchain technology for nuclear weapons defense and information encryption.
