Bitcoin pioneer Charlie Shrem launches new blockchain company

Crazy Review : Bitcoin entrepreneur Charlie Shrem was sentenced to prison for legal issues with Bitcoin exchange BitInstant. After his release at the beginning of the year, he immediately established Intellisys Capital, which plans to issue tokens and use the Ethereum blockchain as the underlying architecture. The company is expected to be officially established next year and start token pre-sales on January 15.

Bitcoin entrepreneur Charlie Shrem has been planning a new company since he was released from prison earlier this year; if his plans pan out, digital currency users will have access to a whole new and unusual way to invest their money.

The company, Intellisys Capital, co-founded by Jason Granger, plans to offer a private equity portfolio and issue tokens representing shares of “middle-market companies” on the Ethereum blockchain.

The announcement, made at the CoinDesk On Tap conference in New York, is the first company Shrem has launched since regulators shut down his first startup, BitInstant.

He said Intellisys Capital plans to issue tokens representing shares of blockchain-based companies in industries such as manufacturing and real estate, which are high-profit and low-risk.

“We will sell shares and ownership of these companies on the blockchain, so the tokens are no longer used for speculation. Token holders will own equity in the company, hard assets.”

Blockchain can manage these funds.

According to the news report, the fund is Mainstreet Investment LP, with token holders owning 30% of the shares and controlling stake, and Intellisys Capital owning 70%.

Intellisys Capital hopes that this strategy will generate dividends, which can be used to return funds to token holders or invest in blockchain technology companies.

“The strategy aims to form a symbiosis between blockchain assets and traditional finance, helping traditional industries achieve maximum development and efficiency growth.”

Intellisys is expected to be launched in a few months, with initial funding coming from a pre-sale of mainstream investment tokens (tokens based on Ethereum). The pre-sale will begin on January 15, 2017 and will not be sold to US residents.

Shrem also discusses industry events, Cooley LLP, and attorney Marco Santori.

Shrem is confident in Bitcoin, blockchain, and upcoming companies.

"I could have gone to jail and blockchain technology could have disappeared, but it didn't disappear."
