Blockchain real estate startup Bitmark raises $1.7 million

Taiwanese blockchain startup Bitmark has raised $1.7 million in a new round of seed funding.

Cherubic Ventures, a venture capital firm specializing in early-stage startups, led the investment. Bitmark uses blockchain technology to register user information and has received investments from companies such as Digital Currency Group and WI Harper.

All properties registered on the platform are called digital assets, bitmarks, which can be traded and generate electronic transaction records. Bitmark is one of many blockchain startups dedicated to property rights protection.

"The concept of property rights has not yet been defined in the digital field. Bitmark has adjusted this concept and uses data to manage property rights. This data must be owned to determine its value."

On October 13, the US Patent and Trademark Office published a list showing that the company is currently applying for patents.
