Baozou Comment : Shanghai Blockchain International Week is a grand event for the global blockchain industry. Giants from the global blockchain industry and investment institutions will participate. I believe this is also a great opportunity for many blockchain start-ups and projects around the world to show their ideas and team members to the world. This International Week event consists of three parts: DEVCON2 (September 19-21), Demo Day (September 22), and The Global Blockchain Summit (September 23-24).

DEVCON2 is the second Ethereum developer conference. This conference focused on scientific research will showcase many exciting projects.

Crypto developers, investors, users and community members from all over the world will gather in Shanghai. Why? Because this is the biggest blockchain event of the year. The event will last for 6 days and consists of three independent exhibitions:

DEVCON2 (September 19-21): The most important Ethereum showcase event of the year, where developers from all over the world will join and present projects, ideas and 'proofs of concept'. This conference is the second developer conference, the first one was held in London in 2015.

Demo Day (September 22): According to the organizers’ official website, Demo Day will showcase “31 blockchain-focused startups and projects, as well as applications in related fields.” The goal of Demo Day is to allow them to “showcase their results and progress to major investors and innovators, in addition to exploring potential entrepreneurial opportunities in China.”

The Global Blockchain Summit 2 (September 23-24): This event will allow developers and companies to showcase their new applications, and the organizers are not only looking for 'proofs of concepts', but also applications that are ready to be implemented in the real world.

Ethereum Foundation members will be attending DEVCON2, with some giving keynote speeches and presentations. The most technical presentation will be developer Viktor Trón’s ‘Infrastructure for Web3’ talk, which will focus on the foundations of the Ethereum ecosystem and extensible contracts.

While some believe that blockchain has become a buzzword, with consulting firm Gartner adding blockchain to their “2016 Emerging Technology Hype Cycle” chart, it’s worth noting that the blockchain space still needs more real-world applications.

According to Gartner, blockchain is currently at the top of the hype circle, which is another way of saying it is a bubble - and this bubble will soon burst. Whether more "well-known" technology companies will further invest in the blockchain field, only time will tell.
