Suzhou police cracked a Bitcoin extortion case, hackers stole 17 million pieces of information

Wuzhong police recently cracked a case of extortion of Bitcoin, with a value of more than 100,000 yuan. After investigation, it was found that the suspect Zhao used the code notes written by the program to log into the database server of the extorted company, obtained the company's user list of more than 7 million and more than 10 million order information, and then extorted money.
Recently, the Changqiao Police Station of the Wuzhong Public Security Bureau received a report from Jin, who said that he was the administrative director of a well-known online food sales company on Baodai West Road in Wuzhong District. The company received anonymous emails to several external mailboxes, saying that the company's database was leaked, more than 7 million registered members and more than 10 million transaction orders were obtained, and the other party threatened to leak this information and demanded 20 bitcoins worth more than 100,000 yuan. Subsequently, the company paid 20 bitcoins as requested by the other party.
After receiving the report, the Internet Monitoring Brigade of Wuzhong Public Security Bureau and Changqiao Police Station immediately set up a special task force to conduct investigation. In 10 days, the task force conducted a large amount of data analysis and query, and investigated and waited for the location. Recently, with the assistance of the police in Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, the task force successfully arrested Zhao, a suspect suspected of extortion, in a residential building in Yanhu District of the city, and seized the mobile phones, computers and other items used in the crime. The Bitcoin involved in the case was also successfully recovered.

After preliminary investigation, the suspect Zhao is 26 years old and from Shandong. On July 28 this year, he successfully logged into the victim company's database server through the code notes written by the program, obtained more than 7 million user lists and more than 10 million order information of the company, and then sent blackmail emails through email, threatening to disclose the company's user list and order information, and blackmailed the company for 20 bitcoins, worth more than 100,000 yuan. At present, the suspect Zhao has been detained.
