UN recruits volunteers for Bitcoin fundraising training

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) is recruiting two volunteers for one of its organizations. The two volunteers will mainly be responsible for conducting research work and also training internal staff on Bitcoin fundraising.

UNV Interested in Bitcoin

UNV is affiliated with the United Nations and is dedicated to the development of global volunteer work for peace. Although the recruitment of Bitcoin evangelists was organized by UNV, the new members will not work directly with them.

UNV is recruiting Bitcoin volunteers for the African Youth Movement (AYM), a growing rural community founded by Abu-Hassan Koroma that seeks to mobilize young people to participate in the revitalization of Sierra Leone.

In order to develop new sources of income and expand global influence, AYM chose Bitcoin. They hope to use Bitcoin as a new fundraising option. The official recruitment information reads:

We need two technical geeks to conduct research work, and also train two internal employees on fundraising methods for digital currency (Bitcoin).

Recruitment conditions

No need to travel. Volunteers only need to work online and do not need to participate in any fundraising projects in person. However, this volunteer work will take at least 12 weeks, 1 to 5 hours of work per week, and they are required to start work immediately. AYM explained that training can be conducted directly on email, group chat, Skype and Whatsapp. What they need is a super technical geek with rich technical knowledge of digital currency, research and IT.

AYM has registered an account on Coinbase and started accepting Bitcoin donations, however, they stated:

All of our team members knew nothing about digital currency and its fundraising methods.

More and more non-profit organizations have begun accepting Bitcoin donations. This method can bring them many benefits, such as greater transparency, lower fees, greater privacy, less capital gains tax (CGT) and even tax exemption. Non-profit organizations that currently accept Bitcoin include United Way, Save the Children, Red Cross, Heifer International, and Bitgive.org (which uses Bitcoin and blockchain technology to promote global public health and improve environmental issues).
