Ma'anshan police destroyed a Bitcoin theft den and seized more than 3,000 mining machines

In order to steal electricity and mine bitcoins to make money, Wang Xiaobing (pseudonym) and others pretended to be migrant workers and hid in rented houses by privately connecting wires. However, the noise of the machines exposed the suspects . On June 15, the police of the Chujiang Branch of the Ma'anshan Public Security Bureau successfully cracked the bitcoin machine theft case and arrested five suspects.

In mid-to-late May this year, police officers from the Chujiang Public Security Bureau went to the village to visit residents in the area as usual and carried out safety precautions publicity. During the conversation, a villager reported to the police that a new family that had recently moved into the village always made a loud roar every night, disturbing the surrounding neighbors and making it impossible for them to sleep. The incident was strange, so the police immediately visited the family under the guidance of the villagers, but they were turned away and could only hear bursts of machine roars coming from inside the house. However, after carefully checking the surrounding environment, the police still found a clue. They saw several very special wires outside the house that went straight into the house, and the source of the wires was the Magang factory area not far away. This abnormal phenomenon aroused the police's vigilance.

On May 27, the police knocked on the door of the rental house in the name of promoting safety precautions and found that the house was filled with large and small machines and equipment in operation. What made the police feel even more incredible was that so many machines and equipment were running at the same time, but the electricity bill for the rental house that month was not much different from that of ordinary people. Through further visits and investigations, there were five such rental houses in the village. In order not to alert the enemy, the police communicated with relevant departments and visited nearby companies to understand the situation. They determined that these rental houses were operating Bitcoin mining machines to make money by stealing electricity from nearby companies.

On June 1, the Ma'anshan Chujiang Public Security Bureau organized police forces to follow the clues and successfully destroyed 5 Bitcoin mining and electricity theft dens, and seized more than 3,000 Bitcoin mining machines on the spot. Four criminal suspects were arrested on the spot. On the evening of June 15, with the arrest of the last criminal suspect, Wang Xiaobing, the case was successfully solved. At present, the follow-up work of the case investigation is in full swing.
