Author: Velvet Gold Mine 21 Inc., a leading bitcoin startup, has unveiled a new proof of concept that explains how its bitcoin-focused software and hardware are taking a new approach to collecting bitcoin data and simulating monetization. The product launched by 21 Inc. is called Sensor21. The design principle of this product focuses on how to connect this product to 21 Inc.'s computer, making the product act as a precision instrument to process specified information, such as air pressure, altitude and temperature. Through this network, 21 Inc. said that users can access information from other regions through the product, allowing users to obtain a comprehensive chart of weather fluctuations in a specified area. “With this short set of settings, you can turn this product into a passive collector of information,” the company explains. “The value of this sensor product is that it is not locked up in a data center such as a cloud computer, but is part of the real world and computing network.” The company's business goal is to get nearby people involved, with everyone sharing data, whether it's weather or radiation levels collected by a Geiger counter or something else. "At the end of the day, a Geiger counter is just an electrical sensor, so other sensors work very similarly, and the Geiger counter captures data, links to a local database for management, and sells the combined information," the company's engineer Tyler Pate told the media. 21 Inc. announced earlier that it will work on connecting all kinds of products to the Internet to develop new uses, connecting all kinds of non-Internet devices to the Internet for processing, and is optimistic about the prospects of high-end products in various Internet products. This sensor is the product of this idea. In March, 21 Inc. launched a similar concept called Ping21, which explains the company's discovery that using a small reward network can help webmasters better monitor the status of global websites. Additionally, at CoinDesk’s Consensus 2016 conference, 21 Inc. made its software available for free, meaning all computer users can now run the company’s software, which was previously only available to users of 21 Inc.’s bitcoin computers. Extended Case Of course, 21 Inc. is still full of beautiful visions about the beneficial social functions that such a network could carry out, such as helping rescue workers better respond in emergencies. In the event of a nuclear power plant emergency, such as the one at Japan's Fukushima plant in 2011, the network would be able to efficiently collect information about radiation levels, giving workers the most up-to-date information about potential hazards. This tool can also be used to prevent potential disasters. Pate said one potential use for the sensor could be in an area like Flint, Michigan, where a network could collect water samples to determine the amount of lead in the water. If multiple people were collecting data on water conditions, they could automatically sell the data to alert groups and agencies when water quality was poor. "Watchdogs or other groups can quickly and efficiently query the data from this sensor," Pate said.
