A group of interest groups focused on issues related to bitcoin, blockchain and digital assets have created a new business forum in an effort to shape public policy around the technology. The group, called the The organization’s goal is reportedly to be to establish “international industry best practices” to encourage blockchain innovation around the world. Perianne Boring, president of the Chamber of Digital Commerce, told reporters:
The organization’s formation comes as governments around the world continue to establish regulatory schemes around blockchain technology, with recent policy updates occurring in Asia, Europe, and the United States. According to Boring, the organization will work to facilitate communication among stakeholders, promote “consistent” public policies for digital currency and blockchain regulation, and conduct research to support the development of those policies.
