Uber angel investor Jason Calacanis invests in bitcoin startup

Prominent angel investor, internet entrepreneur and internet host podcaster Jason Calacanis has invested in bitcoin startup Keza, which allows users to invest in stocks, bonds and fixed income using bitcoin. The company announced $357,000 in pre-seed funding from Jason Calacanis and Barry Silbert’s Digital Currency Group, and as part of the announcement, Keza is launching an iOS investment app for iPhone users.

The team said they will use the new funding to continue developing its app and launch its Android app. Keza was developed by co-founders Simon Burns and Stefan Britton, who were looking for an efficient platform to integrate Bitcoin investment options. Due to Bitcoin's low transaction fees, the Keza investment platform enables any user to invest without a minimum threshold. The concept of a simple global mobile investment app allows this startup to find investors of all levels, including low-end traders, corporate or institutional investors. The main advantage of using the Keza investment app is its diversity and availability to low-end investors.

Typically, traditional investment platforms and brokers require investors to hold a minimum threshold of $1 million to ensure their participation in emerging markets. However, this creates a barrier between emerging markets and individual investors, making up a larger part of the investment community rather than high-end institutional investors. Three investment portfolios For financial and investment stability, the Keza investment platform also offers three levels of portfolios: conservative, moderate and aggressive.

Users and investors seeking low returns from low-risk investments may allocate their bitcoin to a conservative portfolio. However, high-end investors looking for high returns may use their bitcoin to buy an aggressive portfolio, which allocates 48% of the fund to the S&P 500. "Our core user base will likely be users in emerging markets who don't have access to high-quality investments and have entered bitcoin to use banking services (remittances, cross-border payments), or as a store of value," Burns said.

The Keza investment platform also implements a passive investment strategy called "buy and hold", which allows investors to allocate funds to index funds to gradually increase profits.
