EU proposes ending anonymity for Bitcoin and prepaid cards

In the name of fighting terrorism, the European Union wants to end the anonymity of digital currency Bitcoin and prepaid cards. The EU released a document in which European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis said that we must cut off terrorists' access to funds and allow governments to better track the flow of funds to prevent devastating attacks such as last year's Paris attacks.

Interpol published a report last week saying that the way terrorist organizations raise funds has not changed much in the past few years. Although some third parties believe that terrorists use digital currencies such as Bitcoin to fund their activities, this statement has not been confirmed by law enforcement agencies.
