Eugene Kaspersky: Cryptocurrency will be banned if it disrupts the national monetary order

Eugene Kaspersky , CEO and co-founder of Kaspersky Labs , said cryptocurrency is a great invention in terms of its viability within a one-world government, but added that once cryptocurrency starts replacing national currencies, governments will step in to ban it.

Eugene Kaspersky revealed his views on cryptocurrencies, such as a recent Bitcoin event in Russia. In a Kaspersky Digital Radio broadcast attended by other senior government officials and bank executives   During the open discussion, Kaspersky told reporters on the scene that he believed that the innovation and creation of Bitcoin was a great invention.

"I think cryptocurrency is a great invention, but geopolitically the world is not ready for it," Kaspersky said. "If there was a unified world government and the whole world was unified as a single society, then cryptocurrency would be perfect in that world. That would be our future."

Kaspersky made his remarks at a press conference reviewing the events and achievements of 2015, which was attended by Lev Khasis , deputy governor of Sberbank, Artem Ermolaev , the head of the Moscow government and the head of the IT department , and Danny Perekalskiy , CEO of the popular Russian online retailer Ozon.ru.

After praising cryptocurrencies, Kaspersky also urged caution, noting that governments and central banks feel threatened by the decentralized innovation.

I firmly believe that many countries will try to ban the use of cryptocurrencies because it is beyond their control. As long as cryptocurrencies do not pose a threat, the authorities will not pay attention to it. However, when cryptocurrencies start to replace national currencies, the government will immediately ban it.

In addition, Kaspersky also talked about the development potential of blockchain technology and its many possible applications in different industries. As the CEO of the world's largest private company selling security software and solutions, Kaspersky mentioned the importance of cybersecurity in this interconnected world.

We have finally entered the digital age and have long been living a "double life". "Almost everything that happens to us and all business dealings - whether it's calling a parent or the repairman, buying concert tickets or planning a trip - is now done online using digital tools. "

Kaspersky added that sometimes, when users are in the offline world, it can be difficult for them to ensure they are safe from the numerous cyber threats. The task of companies and countries is to make people's physical and digital lives convenient and safe.
