Bitcoin e-commerce Purse raises $1 million, plans mysterious Bitcoin project

On December 7, Bitcoin e-commerce startup Purse has received $1 million in seed funding led by Barry Silbert’s Digital Currency Group.

The startup runs a two-sided e-commerce marketplace that both lets Amazon shoppers pay with bitcoin, offering deep discounts, and allows users to exchange gift cards for the digital currency.

It is reported that the slogan used by Purse states that the company is about to launch a "mysterious Bitcoin project" called Tritium的. In Purse's view, the project will bring new value to customers and partners.

While Purse did not provide further details, the company has indicated that it may be looking to expand its e-commerce model. In November, Purse added new merchants to the platform, including hardware wallets such as Trezor and Ledger, which also offered discounts on its marketplace.

Purse raised $300,000 in seed funding in November last year, and this $1 million round comes at a time when consumer spending on Bitcoin has been declining recently.
