Bitcoin Payment Processor Snapcard Teams Up with UniPAY to Promote Bitcoin Payments to 55,000 Users

Snapcard, a leading Bitcoin payment processor, has entered into a strategic partnership with UniPAY, a Georgia-based traditional electronic payment provider that offers e-wallets and multiple payment options. The partnership will allow the 55,000 active users of the UniPAY platform to pay with digital currencies.

UniPAY is currently one of the largest payment service providers in the Republic of Georgia. The platform's integration of Snapcard's digital currency payment processing technology will provide merchants and users with a new payment option. In addition to Bitcoin payments, other digital currencies such as Litecoin and Dogecoin can also be used. Merchants and users can also exchange these digital currencies into local currencies.

Head of International Growth at Snapcard   Jack Jia   explain:

“Through this partnership, UniPAY users will be able to pay for goods and services online at over 100,000 online merchants around the world that accept Bitcoin. This is great news for Bitcoin and great news for Georgian consumers, as they will have seamless online access to merchants around the world.”

The UniPAY platform has more than 148,000 registered users and 55,000 real-name authenticated user accounts, the latter of which will become the first users to accept Bitcoin payments.

Although international credit and debit cards are widely used in Europe and Asia, not all merchants and businesses in Georgia can process credit card payments. Bitcoin is not only efficient but also has low transaction costs, said UniPAY CEO   Koba Kurdadze   Believes that Bitcoin can break down trade barriers between international customers and Georgian businesses.

“Tourists visiting Georgia are sometimes unable to use international credit cards, and Bitcoin can help simplify transactions and reduce trade barriers. We have partnered with Snapcard to provide this exciting new service to our users.”

Over the past few months, Snapcard has partnered with various payment solution providers including   Tango card   In June, Snapcard launched Masspay, an enterprise-level cross-border payment solution that frees merchants from the risk of Bitcoin price fluctuations.

"It's exciting to see how blockchain technology can help create efficiencies where needed," said Michael Dunworth, CEO of Snapcard.
