According to the news on Oct. 22, Bitcoin mining machine manufacturer Avalon released the prototype of the fifth-generation "Avalon A6" Bitcoin mining machine. It includes the appearance, internal structure, computing board, and control board of the Avalon Bitcoin mining machine A6, and announced detailed parameters. The computing power is 3.65T±10%, and the power consumption on the wall is 1100 watts. The following figure shows the prototype of the Avalon A6 Bitcoin mining machine, which has 2 hash boards in total, and the power consumption of each board is 550 watts. There are 2 PCIE interfaces on the board, and each PCIE needs to provide 275 watts of power, with a current of 23A. The mining website reminds all miners that for the sake of mining safety and stable operation of the mining machine, try to use high-quality power supplies, and the cables must be able to withstand a current of 23A. (The first one on the left is the Avalon Bitcoin Miner A6) Theoretical computing power: 3.65T±10% (Poor quality switching power supply cannot be used). Input voltage should not be lower than 11.7V and not higher than 12.2V (controller feedback value). If the input voltage is too low, the computing power may be insufficient, and if the input voltage is too high, the machine may be burned. Be aware that poor quality power cords can result in insufficient voltage. Avalon's hashboard picture shows a total of 36 chips. The parameter announced by Avalon is 80 chips, indicating that this hashboard is a sample in the testing and development stage. On the front of the Avalon hashboard, you can see that Avalon uses a series connection solution. As early as 2014, the Roasted Cat Prism Miner, Antminer S3++, and S5 also adopted a series connection solution. The advantage of using a series connection is that it can reduce the loss of DC-DC and save energy for the mining machine by about 15%. The disadvantage is that the series connection solution must be cleverly designed and continuously tested, and the mining machine with a series connection solution will have higher requirements for power supply. Avalon officially expects to deliver the products in late October and early November. Avalon officially announced that the total production volume of the first batch of Avalon A6 is expected to be around 30P, which is less than 10% of the total network computing power. CoinWalker expects the computing power to increase by around 300P by the end of the year. Avalon's subsequent production plan has not yet been announced, and CoinWalker will continue to pay attention and report. |
