China's largest bitcoin trading platform receives 5 million venture capital

On November 18, 2013, BTC China (https://www.btcchina.com), the largest Bitcoin trading platform in China, announced that it had received Series A investment from internationally renowned investment institutions Lightspeed Venture Partners China Venture Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with a total financing amount of US$5 million. BTC China was launched in June 2011 and is the Bitcoin trading website with the highest trading volume in China.

Bitcoin was created in 2009. It is based on a set of cryptographic codes and is generated through complex algorithms. It can be circulated globally through any computer connected to the Internet. Anyone can mine, buy, sell or receive Bitcoin. Due to its scarcity, gradually realized redeemability, tradability and extremely low cost of Internet payment (especially small micropayments), Bitcoin has evolved into a virtual digital asset with actual price.

According to statistics from Bitcoinity.org, in recent weeks, the trading volume of BTC China has surpassed the world's other two largest Bitcoin trading platforms, Mt. Gox and BitStamp, becoming the world's largest Bitcoin trading platform. Currently, the highest daily trading volume of BTC China is close to 90,000 Bitcoins, and the highest daily trading amount has exceeded 200 million RMB. In China, a large number of Internet companies, including Baidu, have accepted Bitcoin payments.
