Technical features
We learned that the manufacturer of this mining machine is called Linzhi , headquartered in Shenzhen. Before founding this company, Chen Min was the former CTO of Canaan Creative, another well-known mining machine manufacturer.
Linzhi Phoenix Supports Ethash algorithm, and can perform ETH or ETC mining. Ethash algorithm requires the miner to frequently communicate with DAG files during operation , which consumes memory bandwidth. Although ASIC miners can greatly improve the hash verification speed (i.e. computing power) of the Ethash algorithm , they cannot provide sufficient memory bandwidth. This shortcoming limits the ultimate performance of ASIC miners , resulting in the current conventional ASIC miners not having much higher performance than graphics card miners.
Linzhi has broken through the memory bandwidth limitation of Ethash on ASIC mining machines through distributed storage technology, greatly improving the data transmission and verification capabilities of mining machines. The memory bandwidth of conventional graphics cards is 300-800 GB/s, and Linzhi's bandwidth can reach more than 170 TB/s, making up for the shortcomings of ASIC mining machines and achieving a historic breakthrough in computing power and performance.
Linzhi Phoenix adopts the design of integrating SRAM into the chip and loads DAG files into the chip SRAM . The current memory capacity is 4.43 GB . Due to the continuous growth of DAG file size, Linzhi Phoenix can continue to mine Ethereum for about a year.
