• Update on FIP:

• FIP-0005 is now implemented in Lotus;

• An update to DeclareFaultsRecovered, designed to help miners who are stuck in negative balances due to missing WindowPoSt, allowing them to recover their sectors and avoid additional penalty fees before having to pay off their fee debt;

• Implemented a tie breaker for forks with consistent weights, a small improvement to the protocol that prevents two forks from extending the chain with the same weight.

• There are now over 100 useful applications and tools built on Filecoin, including (but not limited to):

• Consumer storage applications;

• DeFi use cases;

• Decentralized video application;

• Archival storage use case.

• There is a lot of infrastructure and tooling to help developers build on Filecoin:

• Textile’s Powergate: an API-driven solution for deploying multi-tier storage across Filecoin and IPFS;

• Truffle Preserve: simplifies the process of preserving long-lived application data on IPFS and Filecoin;

• Infura’s Filecoin Network API: Developers can use it to build powerful applications based on Filecoin without having to sync their own node;

• Glif Wallet: A lightweight web interface to send and receive Filecoin via Ledger devices.

• There are hundreds of new teams entering the ecosystem from hackathons to accelerators, including:
  

• HackFS: A month-long hackathon held by ETHGlobal, which produced more than 130 new Filecoin-based applications and teams;

• Apollo , a mentorship program run by Gitcoin , mentored 50 teams through their initial MVPs on the Filecoin network;

• Filecoin Launchpad : An accelerator run by Tachyon with 13 teams building companies and organizations on Filecoin;

• Filecoin Frontier : An accelerator run by LongHash in Singapore and Shanghai, a 12-week program that aims to promote the development of related projects on the world's largest distributed storage network. Selected projects will receive $20,000 in start-up funds, with a maximum of $1 million in support.
