Listed mining company Riot Blockchain purchases another 1,000 Antminer S17-Pro

Riot Blockchain, a Nasdaq-listed crypto mining company, announced the purchase of another 1,000 Bitmain S17-Pro Antminers on December 12. It is reported that the Antminer S17-Pro is 50% more efficient than the Antminer S9 currently used by Riot. The company expects that the increased computing power of the new miner will be 440% of the Antminer S9, while consuming only 220% of the power. Riot said that it mined a total of 1,820 BTC in the third quarter of 2019, with a gross profit margin of 14% (excluding depreciation and amortization), and hopes to increase profits when deploying new products in the first quarter of 2020.
