Ethereum developers decide to reduce block reward delay "difficulty bomb"

According to Coindesk, today, 14 Ethereum developers discussed the proposed "difficulty bomb" and changes to the block reward system in a video conference. The developers decided to support EIP1234, reduce block rewards, and delay the "difficulty bomb". The proposed EIP1234 will be added to the Constantinople upgrade meeting scheduled for October.

The original “difficulty bomb” was to force developers to advance the POS progress. Now due to the delay in the development of capser, the difficulty bomb has to be adjusted. The difficulty bomb has been adjusted once before during the “Byzantium” upgrade hard fork. This time the difficulty bomb adjustment is delayed by 5 million blocks.

Currently, the block reward of ETH is 3ETH. After the Constantinople upgrade, the block reward will be reduced to 2ETH per block, and the uncle block reward will also be adjusted accordingly.
