Ethereum Classic appears in the Ethereum community, vowing to fight against the "fork party"

The world of cryptocurrency is always full of surprises. Now, a project called Ethereum Classic has emerged in the Ethereum community, which aims to compete with Ethereum. In fact, the Bitcoin community also has a similar combination - Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Classic, but the split of the Ethereum community is due to the "fork dispute", while the split of the Bitcoin community is due to the "capacity expansion dispute". It seems that some people really don't like the Ethereum hard fork.

Most people think Ethereum Classic is a joke and don’t take it seriously. However, an active discussion group has appeared on Github, which details the concept, goals, development plans, etc. of Ethereum Classic.

As can be seen from the name, Ethereum Classic was created to ensure the continuation of Ethereum's anti-censorship system. They believe that although most members of the Ethereum community agree with the hard fork, this is not suitable for everyone. The Ethereum Classic team wrote in the Github discussion group: The way the Ethereum Foundation handled the DAO incident was really bad. The Ethereum Foundation's fork plan was completely driven by its own interests. This decision completely ignored the interests of most Ethereum holders.

It is a huge challenge to stick to the original appearance of the Ethereum blockchain, but the Ethereum Classic team is confident that they can do it. They have always opposed the withdrawal of DAO funds and the rescue of DAO founders. And hard forking the source code will set a dangerous precedent for the future development of the community.

At this point, we don’t know if this project will succeed. But it’s good to see some people in the community speaking out against the hard fork. The next few weeks will be interesting to see how much support Ethereum Classic will get.
