Roger Ver answers 10 questions about Bitcoin investing and more

Roger Ver is an early adopter and volunteer of Bitcoin, and he has been closely associated with the hot cryptocurrency since 2011. As one of the earliest angel investors of Bitcoin, he advocates the use of Bitcoin and has invested in different areas of Bitcoin. Related startups are proving that Bitcoin will change the world.

In fact, his enthusiasm has infected many users and they think it is feasible. CoinSpeaker interviewed Mr. Ver in the all-star 'Ask Me Anything' session on forum.bitcoin.com, which he hosts, to discuss his plans and views.

1. You are currently hosting the largest AMA in Bitcoin history, can you tell me its purpose and how did you get so many CEOs involved?

I needed a reason to get existing Bitcoiners to use Bitcoin.com instead of other competitors. AMA seemed like a good way to do it, so I emailed all the CEOs in the industry. I believed that the invitation sent by a domain like Bitcoin.com would be influential in getting people to agree to come.

2. I know you have investments in blockchain, foreign exchange trading, payment processing, and other Bitcoin-related fields. Is this your plan or a coincidence?

Since I discovered Bitcoin in 2011, my plan has been to help promote its use as a tool that allows people to have complete control over their financial affairs. Wallets and payment processors are an important part of this ecosystem. I hope Bitcoin.com will be one too.

3. Is Bitcoin.com an investment? How do you plan to develop it?

Bitcoin.com is currently a big liability, but time will prove that it is an investment. My goal is to build it into a better and better portal to the Bitcoin ecosystem. I plan to make Bitcoin.com a very useful place for both Bitcoin beginners and veterans.

4. What do you think of Ross Ulbricht, the accused mastermind of the underground online marketplace Silk Road? You donated $160,000 to his defense, which is a huge sum. Do you think he is innocent?

I think if police, judges, and other law enforcement agencies lock peaceful people in cages simply because they run a manufacturing plant or a chemical plant without the permission of a stranger, then they are criminals and that needs to be stopped.

5. Can you comment on the recent news that Ghost Security Group, an anti-terrorist hacker website, claimed that terrorists in Paris used Bitcoin to financially support their actions.

Frankly, I haven’t had time to check those claims, but blockchains don’t lie. Anyone should be able to independently discern their claims.

6. People often call you ‘Bitcoin Jesus’. What do you think of this nickname, do you like it?

Jesus' fate was not good. I wish I had a different fate.

7.Can I ask about your prediction? Do you think the volatility of Bitcoin value will decrease?

Price fluctuations are inevitable until a bitcoin is worth at least tens of thousands of dollars. Pages 17 to 20 (Roger Ver's PPT on the development of the Bitcoin index) give us some examples of when the price of Bitcoin will stabilize.

8. Can you talk about your first pot of gold?

In middle school, I made my first fortune selling candy to other students.

9. Do you want to regain U.S. citizenship?

No, renouncing my US citizenship was the best decision I have ever made. I think it would have been better if I had made it 10 years ago.

10. Finally, do you have a heroic role model?

Quite a few. If I could have just one intellectual hero, it would be Murray Rothbard.
