Is your appearance really given by your parents?

There is a strange concept in the world today: "Appearance is given by parents, so it is absurd to predict fate based on appearance? How you look is not determined by your own will, what can you do?"

I believe the source of this statement should be the ancient saying: "Your body and hair are given by your parents." This statement is not wrong. However, your body and hair are given by your parents, which does not mean that your appearance can be entirely attributed to your parents. This is an extremely irresponsible idea.

Modern genetics has proven that offspring's appearance is inherited from their parents, and human genetic genes control a person's life. In fact, a person's congenital development is directly influenced by their parents, including their parents' genes. Of course, this inheritance comes from two points. One is the physiological condition at birth, including facial conditions, and the other is the influence of early personality. The imitation ability of young children is very strong. In the early stages of development, the parents' behavior, emotional qualities and all aspects become models for children to learn as they grow.

Therefore, we usually find that children are most like their parents, and then after adolescence, the differences in appearance between them and their parents begin to become more apparent as time goes by.

So, I believe that your appearance from birth to early years is given by your parents, but your appearance after puberty to maturity is your own responsibility.

In my articles, I used psychology to analyze the changes in facial features during growth, with the eyebrows, eyes, and mouth being the most obvious. Their specific shapes are formed by a person's emotional habits over the years.

Simply put, changes in emotions affect changes in facial features. People who laugh well have high eyebrows and upturned corners of the mouth, people who cry well have low eyebrows and drooping corners of the mouth, people who talk well have powerful mouths, people who are taciturn have small and weak mouths, people who extrovert their emotions have rich lines on their faces, and people who are cunning have simple lines on their faces.

Cheerful people have a broad forehead, depressed people have a narrow forehead, open-minded people have big and bright eyes, mean people have small and dull eyes. A generous person has a round and fleshy face, while a mean person has a bony face...

The above examples have proved that after adolescence when self-personality is formed, a person’s appearance is no longer determined by his parents, but is developed by himself.

Early emotions are indeed controlled by parents, but once they enter society and have independent thoughts and personalities, this innate influence gradually disappears. "If the father is a hero, the son will be a hero; if the father is hardworking, the son will be excellent." This theory has long been untenable in modern times. The traditional family education in ancient times was very strict. While being influenced by their parents, young children began to receive enlightenment education in "The Return of the Disciples", "Three Character Classic" and various moral norms. Therefore, several generations of fathers and sons have common behavior patterns under moral norms.

Nowadays, most only children are spoiled, and they become arrogant and lazy, behave eccentrically, and say and do reckless things. Although it is also due to the parents' negligence and lack of early education, it is not inherited from the parents.

Of course, many friends still have questions. Eyebrows, eyes and mouth are acquired, but face shape, nose shape and ears are always congenital and inherited. No!
