Tesla Taxi Aschaffenburg Becomes the First Taxi Company in Germany to Accept Crypto Payments

German taxi company Tesla Taxi Aschaffenburg has announced that customers can now pay for their rides using the cryptocurrency Dogecoin, becoming the first taxi company in Germany to adopt cryptocurrency for payments.

The taxi company further stated that customers who choose to pay with Dogecoin will need to install a digital asset wallet. In addition to Dogecoin, the company also accepts ETH and BTC payments.

The company's CEO Stefan Muller said the decision to make Dogecoin a payment method was initially just a marketing idea, but more and more people want to actually use the cryptocurrency when traveling.

The taxi service has Model S and Model 3 in its fleet and provides a wide range of services in its area, from daily travel to catering for special events. The adoption of cryptocurrency makes Tesla Taxi Aschaffenburg an even more interesting and innovative taxi company, and Mulle said he is always open to new technologies.

The company’s CEO explained that the original idea for Dogecoin as a payment method came from his son, who was “very interested in DOGE and had invested money in it for several months.”

However, his son claims to have been inspired by Tesla CEO Musk, who is arguably the most well-known Dogecoin supporter, especially since the beginning of the year.
